Tradewinds is OCP's regular communication with the book and music stores that sell their products. The tone is friendly. The goal is to influence dealers as they decide which products to display and what they tell their customers. Naturally, we wanted them to feature OCP products for all of the right reasons.
The approach of our headline story, about Fr. Ho Lung, was to involve the dealer in a sense of Fr. Ho Lung's mission. The coverage was more complete than the ads or brochures--a human interest piece on the missionairy and the mission. I gleaned key information from OCP staffers who had actually visited his mission and taken part in his activities. Inside, the newsletter included more typical retailer fare, ads and reminders for seasonal products.
Fr. Ho Lung is one of the few OCP composers I got to meet and talk to. I found him to be all I portrayed and quite a bit more.
